QUICK LINKS

Zofenoprilat-d5 is an active metabolite of Zofenopril. Zenopril is an antioxidant that acts as an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. Studies indicate that Zenopril increases the calcium cycling of sarcoplasmic reticulum and enhances active calcium uptake into the sarcoplasmic reticulum. The compounds Zenopril and Captopril are suggested to be the only ACE inhibitors that structurally have sulphydryl groups (SH). Zenopril has been reported to to convert into Zofeniprilate, the active free sulfhydryl compound, after metabolic hydrolysis. Additional Zofenopril metabolites include: Zofenopril Acyl--D-glucuronide (sc-220407)
