SEE ALSO...

Zic3 Antibody (SQ-15) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Zic3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Zic3 antibody (SQ-15) is available as non-conjugated format. Zic3, known as zinc finger protein of the cerebellum 3, plays a crucial role as a C2H2 zinc finger transcription factor, essential for establishing proper left-right axis and midline neural patterning during early development of vertebrate embryos. Zic3 influences development of various organ systems, and mutations in Zic3 gene can lead to severe developmental disorders, including X-linked visceral heterotaxy, characterized by congenital heart disease and defects in left-right axis of organs. Mutations affecting zinc finger DNA binding domain and N-terminal domain of Zic3 result in loss of transactivation capability for reporter genes, while specific mutations within amino acid range 253-323 lead to aberrant cytoplasmic localization instead of normal nuclear localization, further underscoring Zic3′s significance in developmental biology and potential implications in congenital malformations.
