QUICK LINKS

Vulpinic Acid is a lichen metabolite with anti-inflammatory properties. Vulpinic acid, a lichen metabolite present in L. vulpina, possesses a wide range of biological activities. It exhibits activity against various bacteria including C. perfringens, B. vulgatus, B. fragilis, B. loescheii, P. acnes, E. faecium, as well as methicillin-susceptible and -resistant S. aureus, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 4 to 16 μg/ml. Additionally, Vulpinic acid (25-800 μM) protects HaCaT human keratinocytes from UVB-induced apoptosis, cytotoxicity, and cytoskeletal modifications, while promoting scratch wound healing in these cells.
