VU 0360172 is selective for mGlu5 (EC50 = 16 nM Ki = 195 nM). It displays efficacy in regulating CNS function in human embryonic kidney cell and rat cortical astrocyte. VU 0360172 displays no significant activity at mGlu1, mGlu2 or mGlu4 receptors.
