VU 0155041 sodium salt is the sodium salt preparation of VU 0155041 (sc-204385), a positive allosteric modulator of the mGluR-4 (metabotropic glutamate receptor 4). Allosteric modulation of the mGluR-4 by VU 0155041 has been demonstrated to decrease haloperidol-induced catalepsy and reserpine-induced akinesia in rats, and has been correlated to antiparkinsonian effects. VU 0155041 sodium salt is an activator of mGluR-4. VU0155041 is a compound that positively enhances the activity of metabotropic glutamate receptor 4 (mGluR4). It effectively responds to glutamate in a thallium flux assay, with an EC50 value of 2.5 μM.
