VpreB3 Antibody (FT-32) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VpreB3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-VpreB3 antibody (FT-32) is available as a non-conjugated format. VpreB3, also known as CD179a or pre-B lymphocyte 1, plays a crucial role in the early stages of B cell development, specifically in pre-B lymphocytes, where VpreB3 is expressed but absent in mature B cells and other blood cell lineages. VpreB3 is essential for forming a molecular complex with the immunoglobulin mu chain, which is vital for regulating immunoglobulin gene rearrangements during B cell differentiation. VpreB3 gene is located on human chromosome 22q11.2, and VpreB3 works in conjunction with the lambda 5 gene to produce the iota and omega polypeptide chains, respectively. In humans, these genes are separate entities, unlike in mice, where VpreB3 and lambda 5 are co-expressed as part of the same transcription unit. Proper functioning of VpreB3 is critical for the development of a functional immune response, as VpreB3 ensures the correct assembly of the B cell receptor complex, which is necessary for the maturation and activation of B cells.
