Vitamin D2 is the synthetic form of Vitamin D and may act to aid in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D2 has a strong inhibitory effect against bladder tumor promotion by sodium saccharin and induces cell differentiation in leukemia cells. Vitamin D2 has also been shown to be an inhibitor of DNA polymerase.
