VCPIP1 Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects VCPIP1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VCPIP1 (C-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VCPIP1, also known as DUBA3 or VCIP135, is a 1,222 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one OTU domain, and is primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and golgi stacks within the golgi apparatus. This localization enables VCPIP1 to interact with valosin-containing protein (VCP) and p47, functioning as a deubiquitinating enzyme essential for post-mitotic golgi stack formation. VCPIP1 may also play a significant role in VCP-mediated creation of the transitional endoplasmic reticulum, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and proper protein processing. VCPIP1 is encoded on human chromosome 8, a region associated with various diseases and malignancies, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and certain leukemias, highlighting VCPIP1′s importance in both cellular function and disease pathology.
