Vasorin Antibody (4G7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Vasorin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Vasorin antibody (4G7) is available as the non-conjugated format. Vasorin, also known as SLITL2, is a secreted type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in vertebrate axis patterning, axon guidance, and vascular development. Vasorin′s structure includes tandem leucine-rich repeats, an epidermal growth factor-like motif, and a fibronectin type III-like motif within the extracellular domain, which are essential for interactions with other proteins and signaling pathways. Vasorin is primarily expressed in the aorta, with moderate levels found in the kidney and placenta, highlighting significance in vascular biology. Vasorin directly binds to transforming growth factor (TGF)-β, effectively attenuating TGF-β signaling in vitro, which is vital for regulating cellular responses to injury and inflammation. Down-regulation of Vasorin expression has been implicated in neointimal formation following vascular injury, suggesting a role in modulating response to pathological stimuli in vessel walls. Vasorin represents a promising therapeutic target for vascular fibroproliferative disorders, making Vasorin monoclonal antibody (4G7) an invaluable tool for researchers studying vascular biology and related diseases.
