Vasopressin is a nonapeptide hormone produced by the hypothalamus and stored in the posterior pituitary gland. It′s primary roles are in the regulation of water balance and arterial blood pressure. Vasopressin acts on the kidneys to increase water permeability and works within the peripheral vascular system to increase vasoconstriction.
