    SEE ALSO...

VapG Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects VapG protein of Rhodococcus equi origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VapG (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VapG plays a crucial role in the virulence of Rhodococcus equi, a gram-positive bacterium responsible for severe pyogranulomatous pneumonia in foals and immunocompromised humans, making VapG a significant concern in veterinary and human medicine. Understanding VapG structure is essential, as VapG is part of a family of virulence-associated proteins that facilitate the bacterium′s ability to evade the host immune response. VapG structure allows interaction with host immune cells, thereby modulating the immune response and contributing to the pathogenicity of R. equi. Infected foals typically mount an immune response against R. equi, with antibodies primarily targeting VapA, while responses to VapD, VapF, VapG, and VapH are observed at decreasing levels. VapG′s ability to elicit an immune response highlights VapG′s potential as a target for therapeutic interventions and vaccine development.
