UNC5H4 Antibody (4G3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects UNC5H4 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). UNC5H4, also known as UNC5D, is a single-pass type I membrane protein that belongs to the UNC5H family of netrin receptors, which are essential for mediating axon guidance and neural cell migration. UNC5H4 serves as a receptor for netrin-1, which can either promote cell survival or induce apoptosis when cleaved by caspases to release a death domain-containing fragment. In the absence of netrin-1, UNC5H4 functions as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting anchorage-independent growth and invasion, making UNC5H4 a critical player in cancer biology. Expression of UNC5H4 is frequently down-regulated in various carcinomas, including colorectal, breast, ovarian, uterine, stomach, lung, and kidney cancers, highlighting UNC5H4′s potential as a biomarker for tumorigenicity. Two isoforms of UNC5H4 arise from alternative splicing, contributing to functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in different cellular contexts.
