Magnetic Stir Bar – UltraCruz^®

UltraCruz^® Magnetic Stir Bar is suitable for agitating and mixing a wide variety of solutions in a lab. Magnetic Stir Bar is composed of a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated high quality magnetic alloy. This allows for autoclavability and superior chemical resistance. Magnetic Stir Bars can be used in conjunction with both unheated and hotplate stirrers for uniform, consistent, and thorough mixing of chemical solutions. Magnetic Stir Bars come in multifaceted octagonal or polygonal shapes which provide increased surface area, turbulence, and agitation. The low friction, octagonal option is offered with an integral pivot ring that minimizes surface contact and reduces resistance to ensure efficient and smooth mixing. The center pivot ring helps create a strong mixing vortex even with more viscous solutions. The polygonal option without a ring is ideal for mixing low volume solutions and solids as it stays close to the bottom of the vessel and produces a scraping effect. Magnetic Stir Bars are recommended to be stored in pairs to maintain magnetic strength.
