UCL 1684 ditrifluoroacetate is a potent, non-peptide blocker of the apamin-sensitive Ca2+-activated K+ channel. UCL 1684 ditrifluoroacetate hydrate has been employed to investigate the process by which ammonium facilitates the removal of the protonated analyte from the analyte-trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) ion-pair. Furthermore, UCL 1684 has been utilized as a potassium channel inhibitor in research examining the relaxation effects induced by CNP (C-type natriuretic peptide) in pig coronary arteries.
