UBE2Q2 Antibody (R-16) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects UBE2Q2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-UBE2Q2 antibody (R-16) is available as a non-conjugated format. UBE2Q2, or Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 Q2, is a 375 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for regulating protein turnover and maintaining cellular homeostasis. UBE2Q2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where UBE2Q2 facilitates the ubiquitination process by catalyzing the attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins, marking them for degradation. Proper functioning of UBE2Q2 is vital, as dysregulation of ubiquitination can lead to the accumulation of damaged or misfolded proteins, contributing to various diseases, including cancer. UBE2Q2 expression has been observed in invasive epithelial tissues and tumor masses, such as head and neck squamous cell carcinomas, indicating potential involvement in tumorigenesis. UBE2Q2 exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may further diversify functional roles in cellular processes.
