SEE ALSO...

Twinfilin-1 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Twinfilin-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Twinfilin-1 (E-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Twinfilin-1 plays a crucial role in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics by binding to actin monomers, thereby preventing their assembly into filaments. This function is vital for maintaining cellular structure and facilitating processes such as cell motility and division. Twinfilin-1 is composed of two actin-depolymerizing factor homology domains, which allow coordination of filament severing and monomer sequestering at sites of rapid actin turnover. Twinfilin-1 is predominantly expressed in embryos and most adult non-muscle cell types, where binding to ADP-G-actin inhibits filament assembly by blocking nucleotide exchange on actin monomers. Additionally, Twinfilin-1 activity is modulated by phosphatidylinositol (4,5)-bisphosphate, which inhibits function, while small GTPases like Rac1 and Cdc42 promote redistribution to membrane ruffles and cell-cell contacts, highlighting a dynamic role in cellular signaling and structure.

Can Twinfilin-1 (E-4): sc-376539 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, Twinfilin-1 (E-4): sc-376539 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
