SEE ALSO...

TRP1 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRP1 (G-9) antibody is available as non-conjugated format. TRP1, also known as tyrosinase-related protein 1, plays a crucial role in melanin biosynthesis, the pigment responsible for coloration in skin, hair, and eyes. Located in melanosomes of melanocytes, TRP1 is essential for proper melanin production pathway function, contributing to enzymatic processes that convert tyrosine into melanin. Defects in TRP1 can lead to pigmentation disorders, including various forms of albinism. TRP1 interacts with other key proteins involved in melanin synthesis, such as tyrosinase (TYR) and TRP2, forming a multi-enzyme complex that enhances enzyme stability and activity. TRP1 supports TYR catalytic function and ensures efficient melanin production, highlighting significance in maintaining normal pigmentation and protecting against UV radiation.

Can TRP1 (G-9): sc-166857 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, TRP1 (G-9): sc-166857 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
