Tropomyosin Antibody (CH1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Tropomyosin in mouse, rat, human, and avian species through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Tropomyosin plays a crucial role in muscle contraction and cellular structure by binding to actin filaments, thereby stabilizing their structure and regulating the interaction between actin and myosin. This interaction is vital for muscle function, as it allows for the precise control of muscle contraction and relaxation. Tropomyosin is encoded by two genes, TPM1 and TPM2, which undergo alternative splicing to produce various isoforms that are specific to different muscle types and non-muscle tissues. The presence of these isoforms allows for specialized functions in diverse cellular contexts, highlighting the importance of Tropomyosin in both muscle and non-muscle cells. Additionally, Tropomyosin interacts with other proteins such as Troponin I and Caldesmon, which further modulate its role in muscle contraction and cellular signaling pathways. Anti-Tropomyosin antibody (CH1) is an essential tool for researchers studying muscle biology, cytoskeletal dynamics, and the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle-related diseases.
