TRNT1 Antibody (1G11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the TRNT1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TRNT1 antibody (1G11) is available as the non-conjugated format. TRNT1, also known as tRNA nucleotidyl transferase, CCA-adding, 1, CCA1, MtCCA, or CGI-47, is a crucial 434 amino acid mitochondrial protein that plays a vital role in the post-transcriptional modification of tRNA. Specifically, TRNT1 adds the CCA sequence to the 3-prime end of tRNA precursors, a necessary step for the maturation of tRNAs, which are essential for accurate protein synthesis. Proper functioning of TRNT1 is critical, as any disruption in this process can lead to impaired protein biosynthesis and has been associated with various mitochondrial disorders. TRNT1 exists in three isoforms due to alternative splicing and requires manganese as a cofactor for enzymatic activity. The gene encoding TRNT1 is located on human chromosome 3, which is rich in genes related to various biological functions, including a cluster of chemokine receptor genes and several loci associated with human cancers.
