TRMT1 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects TRMT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TRMT1 (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TRMT1 protein plays a crucial role in the modification of transfer RNA (tRNA), specifically by dimethylating a guanine residue at position 26, which is essential for maintaining the accuracy of mRNA translation and ensuring proper protein synthesis. This modification is vital for the regulation of translation efficiency, as TRMT1 helps maintain the correct reading frames during protein synthesis. TRMT1, a 659 amino acid enzyme, was initially identified in yeast and Caenorhabditis elegans, showing a 26% and 31% sequence identity to yeast and C. elegans homologs, respectively. TRMT1 gene is located on chromosome 19p13.13, and mutations in TRMT1 can lead to reduced enzyme activity and lower protein levels, which may have significant implications for cellular function and organismal health.
