Tris(N,N-dimethylaminopropyl)amine, also known as DMAPA, is used as a catalyst for organic synthesis. It acts as a Lewis acid that can catalyze a variety of reactions, such as aldol reactions, Claisen rearrangements, and Diels-Alder reactions. It is also used as a catalyst for the synthesis of polymers, such as polyurethanes, polyamides, and polyesters.
