QUICK LINKS

Triphenylcarbenium hexafluorophosphate is a metal carbonyl compound. Shown to be an effective catalyst for ethyl diazoacetate, a pivotal element in polyvinyl alcohol and vinyl compound synthesis. Triphenylcarbenium hexafluorophosphate has nucleophilic properties, possibly stemming from its ability to bind with hydroxyl groups on other molecules. This property also makes it suitable as a catalyst for cationic polymerization reactions. Triphenylcarbenium hexafluorophosphate is stable at low temperatures and also has a low activation energy, making it useful for preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
