Trifluorothymine is a crystalline solid that is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and dimethyl sulfoxide. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of tipiracil + trifluridine. It is a synthetic nucleoside analog of thymine. Used in scientific experiments to study the structure and function of DNA and RNA molecules.
