Trazodone N-Oxide (TNO) is a metabolite of Trazodone Hydrochloride (sc-213097). It has been found to possess a wide range of biological activities, including neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, anti-proliferative, and anti-viral properties. Trazodone N-Oxide ′s mechanism of action is not yet fully understood, but it is hypothesized to work by inhibiting specific enzymes like cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase (LOX). Additionally, it has been found to inhibit certain proteins such as nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) and signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT).
