Trans-Vaccenic Acid (TVA) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid. It is an isomer of linoleic acid. Trans-Vaccenic acid is a precursor for conjugated linoleic acid and saturated fatty acids. Studies have demonstrated that Trans-Vaccenic Acid can activate the PPAR-alpha receptor, which plays a role in lipid metabolism regulation, and inhibit the NF-kB pathway, associated with inflammation.
