QUICK LINKS

Topotecan Hydrochloride, in its water-soluble hydrochloride salt form, is a potent inhibitor of topoisomerase 1 (Topo I) that exerts proapoptotic and antiproliferative effects. By inhibiting the activity of topoisomerase I, topotecan hydrochloride effectively hinders DNA replication, leading to cellular demise. Derived from the natural alkaloid camptothecin (sc-200871), topotecan is a semisynthetic derivative. It is recognized for its ability to stabilize topoisomerase I/DNA cleavable complexes and induce rapid apoptotic cell death.
