    SEE ALSO...

TOK-1β Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects TOK-1 beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TOK-1 beta antibody (B-10) is available as a non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this important protein. TOK-1 protein plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, particularly at the G1/S transition, where TOK-1 protein interacts with the cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) complex. This interaction helps modulate CDK activity, which is essential for cell division and proliferation. TOK-1 is alternatively spliced into two isoforms, TOK-1a and TOK-1b, which differ slightly in amino acid composition and functional properties. While both isoforms are expressed at the G1/S boundary, TOK-1a preferentially binds to an active form of CDK2 through p21, forming a ternary complex that enhances p21′s inhibitory effects on CDK2′s histone H1 kinase activity. TOK-1a may serve as a novel modulator of CDK2, providing insights into regulatory mechanisms governing the cell cycle. TOK-1′s ability to co-localize with p21 in the nucleus further underscores TOK-1′s significance in cell cycle control and highlights TOK-1′s potential as a target for therapeutic interventions in diseases characterized by dysregulated cell proliferation.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271985 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
