TLR4 Antibody (MTS510) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects the TLR4/MD-2 complex of mouse, rat, and human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). TLR4 (MTS510) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TLR4 plays a crucial role in the immune system by recognizing lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from Gram-negative bacteria, which triggers a signaling cascade that leads to the activation of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NFkB) and the subsequent production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. This function is vital for initiating an effective immune response and maintaining homeostasis during infections. TLR4 is primarily located on the cell surface of immune cells such as macrophages and dendritic cells, where TLR4 acts as a sentinel for pathogen detection. The proper functioning of TLR4 is essential for the innate immune response, and dysregulation can lead to chronic inflammatory diseases or impaired immune responses. TLR4 (MTS510) monoclonal antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of immune activation and the role of TLRs in various diseases.

Do you know if the anti TLR4 clone MTS510 works (IHC) on chicken tissues?? Or do you have a clone against TLR4 who does works onchicken? I read an article (ansari 2017, bursal atrophy, TLR4) he used an antibody of santa cruz that works in chicken,

What negative control should be used when using the conjugated version of TLR4 (MTS510) monoclonal antibody in flow cytometry?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend using the isotype specific normal rat IgG conjugated to the same fluorophore. For example, if you are using sc-13591 PE, then you would want to use normal rat IgG2a PE, sc-2872.
