SEE ALSO...

Thy-1 Antibody (F15-42-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Thy-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Thy-1 is a phosphatidyl-anchored cell surface glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling, particularly in the context of hematopoietic stem cells. Thy-1 presence on the surface of these cells is vital for their interaction with the bone marrow microenvironment, which is essential for maintaining stem cell quiescence and regulating differentiation. Anti-Thy-1 antibody (F15-42-1) enables researchers to identify and study these important cell populations, advancing our knowledge of stem cell biology and its applications in regenerative medicine.

Can Thy-1 (F15-42-1): sc-59398 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Thy-1 (F15-42-1): sc-59398 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
