Thy-1 Antibody (AF-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Thy-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Thy-1 is a phosphatidyl-anchored cell surface glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling, particularly in the context of hematopoietic stem cells. Thy-1 presence on the surface of these cells is vital for their identification and isolation, as Thy-1 helps distinguish them from other cell types within the bone marrow microenvironment. Thy-1 interaction with various ligands and receptors is essential for maintaining stem cell properties and regulating immune responses, making Thy-1 a significant marker in studies related to graft versus host disease and post-transplant autoreactivity. Anti-Thy-1 antibody (AF-9) enables researchers to effectively explore the dynamics of stem cell populations and their implications in both normal physiology and disease states.
