Thrombin Antibody (GMA-020) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Thrombin in human samples through western blotting (WB). Thrombin, also known as Coagulation Factor 2, plays a pivotal role in the hemostatic process following tissue injury by being the first serine protease activated in the coagulation cascade, where Thrombin is generated from the proteolytic cleavage of Prothrombin. This enzyme not only facilitates the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin, leading to clot formation, but also has significant implications in various physiological processes, including cellular mitogenesis, tumor growth, and metastasis. Importantly, Thrombin is involved in the regulation of vascular integrity during both development and postnatal life, making Thrombin crucial for maintaining proper blood vessel function. Additionally, during wound healing, Thrombin coordinates the activity of connective tissue proteins by stimulating fibroblast production of procollagen, thereby promoting tissue repair and regeneration. Anti-Thrombin antibody (GMA-020) is an essential tool for researchers studying coagulation processes, vascular biology, and wound healing mechanisms.
