THNSL1 Antibody (77-Y) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects THNSL1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-THNSL1 antibody (77-Y) is available as a non-conjugated format. THNSL1, also known as threonine synthase-like 1 or TSH1, is a 743 amino acid enzyme belonging to the serine/threonine dehydratase family, primarily expressed in brain and endocrine glands. THNSL1 functions as a pyridoxal-5′-phosphate (PLP)-dependent enzyme, utilizing pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. This enzymatic function highlights THNSL1′s potential involvement in amino acid metabolism, particularly in threonine synthesis, an essential amino acid obtained through diet. Although THNSL1 shares structural similarities with bacterial threonine synthases responsible for synthesizing threonine from aspartic acid, THNSL1 has likely lost its original metabolic role in de novo threonine synthesis. THNSL1′s interaction with various metabolic pathways underscores its importance in maintaining amino acid homeostasis and overall cellular function, making THNSL1 a valuable target for research in metabolic disorders and related fields.
