TGE Virus Antibody (1-Q-17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the TGE Virus protein of Transmissible Gastroenteritis Virus origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-TGE Virus antibody (1-Q-17) is available as the non-conjugated form. The Transmissible Gastroenteritis Virus (TGEV) is a member of the coronavirus family, characterized by an enveloped structure and positive-sense single-stranded RNA genome, which plays a crucial role in pathogenicity. TGEV primarily targets the epithelial cells of the small intestine in pigs, leading to severe gastrointestinal disease, particularly in neonates, where mortality rates can be high. The peplomer protein of TGEV is essential for viral infection of host cells, facilitating membrane fusion and binding to specific receptors on the host cell surface. Understanding peplomer protein function is vital for developing effective vaccines and therapeutic strategies against TGEV, as this protein drives viral life cycle and host immune system interaction.
