SEE ALSO...

tetranectin Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects tetranectin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-tetranectin antibody (F-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. tetranectin is a homotrimeric glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in tissue remodeling and the regulation of proteolytic processes, primarily through its ability to bind calcium, heparin, and plasminogen kringle 4. tetranectin is predominantly located in the extracellular matrix (ECM) of certain carcinomas, where tetranectin is absent in normal tissues, highlighting tetranectin′s significance in cancer biology. tetranectin presence in the ECM is associated with extracellular proteolysis, a key factor that enables malignant cells to invade normal tissues and metastasize. Notably, decreased levels of plasma tetranectin or increased concentrations in the stroma of tumors correlate with cancer progression and poor prognosis. Additionally, tetranectin may influence tumor growth by modulating the activities of plasminogen and its fragment, angiostatin, which is known to inhibit tumor cell proliferation.

I am using tetranectin (F-8): sc-376940 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
