QUICK LINKS

Tetrahydrocorticosterone is a type of glucocorticoid with notable anti-inflammatory properties. One of its active forms, 5α-Tetrahydrocorticosterone, acts by binding to the GC receptor and inhibiting inflammatory processes. Tetrahydrocorticosterone is naturally synthesized by the adrenal glands and plays a role in regulating the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. In addition to its anti-inflammatory functions, Tetrahydrocorticosterone exhibits various other biological effects, including the inhibition of cyclase activity and the production of malonic acid. This compound can be used in the measurement of cortisol concentration in both blood serum and urine samples, with a detection sensitivity ranging from 5 to 10 ng/mL.
