QUICK LINKS

Tetradecyl-phosphocholine is a structural analog of myristoyl lysophosphatidylcholine that is more stable to hydrolytic degradation. It is an aliphatic phospholipid that is a major component of biological membranes and may act to increase the fluidity of the cell membrane. This lipid is often used as a detergent for membrane protein solubilization and purification. It has been also used as a helper lipid for in vitro gene transfer, and it may act to have some anticancer activity.
