TESK2 Antibody (31-F) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the TESK2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TESK2 antibody (31-F) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. TESK2, also known as testicular protein kinase 2, is primarily located in the nucleus and is a member of the protein kinase superfamily, with significant expression in the testis and prostate. Nuclear localization of TESK2 is crucial for regulating various intracellular signaling pathways, particularly those involved in spermatogenesis. As a dual-specificity protein kinase, TESK2 is responsible for ATP-dependent phosphorylation of substrates, which includes autophosphorylation on tyrosine and serine/threonine residues. This phosphorylation activity is essential for mediating meiotic events, highlighting TESK2′s importance in reproductive biology. Additionally, TESK2 requires magnesium as a cofactor for catalytic activity, and TESK2′s kinase domain shares 65% identity with TESK1, suggesting these proteins may have overlapping functions in phosphorylation processes. Alternative splicing results in the expression of three TESK2 isoforms, further diversifying functional roles within the cell.
