TCR V α 8 Antibody (KT50) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects TCR V alpha 8 protein of mouse origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). TCR V α 8 (KT50) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The T cell antigen receptor (TCR) plays a crucial role in immune response by recognizing diverse foreign antigens, which is essential for T cell activation and subsequent immune response. TCR is a heterodimer consisting of either alpha and beta chains or gamma and delta chains, with most T cells (approximately 95%) expressing the alpha/beta heterodimer. TCR recognition of various antigens occurs through somatic recombination, involving rearrangement of variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) gene segments during T cell development. This complex assembly process creates a vast repertoire of TCRs, enabling effective immune system response to numerous pathogens. In mice, TCR alpha chain is constructed from 104 V alpha segments and 61 J alpha segments located at alpha/delta loci, while human equivalent has fewer V alpha segments but similar J alpha segments. TCR specificity and diversity are vital for adaptive immune system, making TCR V α 8 (KT50) monoclonal antibody an important tool for studying T cell activation and function in mouse models.
