Taurochenodeoxycholic Acid, Sodium Salt is a detergent useful for the solubilization of lipids and membrane-bound proteins. Taurochenodeoxycholic Acid inhibits Na+-dependent taurocholate transport in the intestine. Taurochenodeoxycholic Acid (TCDCA) is a bile acid compound that is formed by the conjugation of chenodeoxycholic acid (chenodiol), which is a primary bile acid, with taurine. TCDCA is used as a detergent to solubilize lipids and membrane-bound proteins, and it also inhibits Na+-dependent taurocholate transport in the intestine.
