SW033291 is a chemical inhibitor that has been shown to increase prostaglandin PGE2 levels in vitro which was shown to effect the liver, bones, tissues, and cancer cells in vitro. SW033291 is an inhibitor of of the enzyme 15-hydroxy prostaglandin dehydrogenase, which initiates the catabolism of PGs and related eicosanoids. SW033291 promotes tissue regeneration in mouse models of colon and liver injury, and accelerates hematopoietic recovery in mice receiving a bone marrow transplant.
