SV40 T Ag Antibody (Pab 101) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SV40 T Ag of SV40 origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-SV40 T Ag antibody (Pab 101) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SV40 large T antigen plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle and is essential for the transformation of host cells, as SV40 large T antigen interacts with key cellular proteins. Notably, SV40 large T antigen binds to the retinoblastoma (Rb) tumor suppressor protein, specifically targeting the "pocket" domain, which is also the binding site for the E2F transcription factor. This interaction leads to the release of E2F, promoting cell cycle progression and contributing to oncogenic transformation. Additionally, SV40 large T antigen′s ability to inactivate the p53 tumor suppressor gene further underscores SV40 large T antigen′s importance in cellular transformation and cancer research. SV40 T Ag monoclonal antibody (Pab 101) enables researchers to gain valuable insights into the mechanisms of viral oncogenesis and the intricate interactions between viral proteins and host cell regulatory pathways.

Can it be used for IHC detection of BKV (SV40 homologous) infection in human tissues

Thank you for your question. T Ag Antibody (Pab 101) sc-147 is recommended for detection of the C-terminus of large T antigen of SV40 origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P). We haven't been tested BKV reactivity with SC-147.
