Supervillin Antibody (B8C1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Supervillin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Supervillin antibody (B8C1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Supervillin plays a crucial role in actin filament remodeling and is essential for various cellular processes such as cell motility, apoptosis regulation, and phagocytosis. Supervillin is primarily located at the plasma membrane and is tightly associated with actin filaments, which is vital for maintaining cell shape and facilitating cellular movement. Supervillin′s presence at the plasma membrane underscores its importance in processes like cell adhesion and migration, which are critical for tissue development and repair. Additionally, Supervillin is ubiquitously expressed across different tissues, with a non-muscle-specific isoform capable of activating androgen receptor activity, while the muscle-specific isoform, known as Archvillin, contributes to myogenic membrane structures and differentiation.
