SUN-B 8155 is a pyridone derivative with biological activity similar to that of calcitonin (CT), a polypeptide hormone involved in regulating blood calcium levels. Like CT, SUN-B 8155 has been shown to elevate cyclic AMP levels in cells and is estimated to interact with the CT receptor by a mechanism similar to that of CT itself. SUN-B 8155 is an activator of CT-R.
