SUG1 Antibody (35) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SUG1 in mouse, rat, human, and canine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). SUG1, also known as PSMC5, p45, or S8, is a crucial ATPase subunit of the 26S proteasome complex, which plays a vital role in the regulated degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis. SUG1 is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where SUG1 is integral to the 19S regulatory particle of the proteasome, facilitating the recognition and processing of substrates, particularly those associated with the endoplasmic reticulum. SUG1′s importance extends beyond its structural role; recent research indicates that SUG1 phosphorylation by specific protein kinases is essential for the assembly of the 26S proteasome, highlighting a regulatory mechanism that could influence proteasome activity and, consequently, protein turnover within the cell. Furthermore, SUG1 has been shown to interact with key transcription factors such as the retinoid X receptor and thyroid hormone receptor, suggesting a significant role in modulating gene expression in response to hormonal signals. With multifaceted functions, SUG1 is a critical component in both proteolytic processes and transcriptional regulation, making anti-SUG1 antibody (35) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these pathways.
