Substance P is a neurokinin neurotransmitter, which is characterized by the C-terminal sequence, Phe-X-Gly-Leu-Met-NH2. Substance P is known to be an important part of endocrine and exocrine gland secretion. Alternate studies suggest that Substance P can induce apoptosis and decrease the steady state of Her2 (Neu) and EGFR. Substance P inhibits the phosphorylation of ERK, which results in a reduction of capsaicin-induced nociception. Substance P is an activator of NK-1R. BRD 7389 has also been studied for its potential as a research tool for investigating the functions of BRD4 in cells and model organisms. Because BRD 7389 specifically targets BRD4, it can be used to study the effects of BRD4 inhibition on various cellular processes, such as gene expression, cell cycle regulation, and DNA damage repair.
