    SEE ALSO...

STYX Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects STYX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). STYX (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. STYX protein, also known as serine/threonine/tyrosine-interacting protein, is a 223 amino acid protein that belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, specifically the non-receptor class subfamily. Notably, STYX contains a Gly residue instead of the conserved Cys residue typically found in the dsPTPase catalytic loop, rendering STYX catalytically inactive as a phosphatase. However, the preserved binding pocket allows STYX to interact with phosphorylated substrates, potentially shielding them from degradation by active phosphatases. This interaction is crucial as STYX may play a significant role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly during spermiogenesis, where STYX interacts with CARHSP1/CRHSP-24. The gene encoding STYX is located on human chromosome 14, which is home to over 700 genes and is implicated in various genetic disorders, including Alzheimer′s disease and α1-antitrypsin deficiency. The ability of STYX to bind phosphorylated proteins highlights STYX′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating critical biological processes.
