STK40 Antibody (LN-87) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects STK40 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-STK40 antibody (LN-87) is available as a non-conjugated format. STK40, also known as Serine/threonine-protein kinase 40 or Sugen kinase 495, is a 435 amino acid protein kinase that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly as a potential negative regulator of NFκB and p53-mediated gene expression. STK40 is localized in both the cytoplasm and nucleus, which enables participation in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation and apoptosis. STK40 contains a central serine/threonine protein kinase domain and shares homology with TRB-3, a protein known to regulate MAP kinases activation and inhibit NFκB-mediated gene transcription. Overexpression of STK40 has been shown to inhibit NFκB activation triggered by tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and suppress p53-mediated transcription, highlighting a potential role in cancer biology. Four named isoforms of STK40 are produced through alternative splicing, which may contribute to functional diversity in different cellular contexts.
