    SEE ALSO...

ST8Sia VI Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects ST8Sia VI protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ST8Sia VI antibody (E-3) is available as a non-conjugated format. ST8Sia VI, also known as alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 8F variant 3, plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of sialylated glycoconjugates, which are essential for various biological processes, including cell-cell interactions, immune response modulation, and cellular integrity maintenance. ST8Sia VI is primarily located in the Golgi apparatus, where ST8Sia VI functions as a single-pass type II membrane protein, facilitating sialic acid transfer to O-glycans, thereby influencing glycoproteins and glycolipids structural diversity and functionality. ST8Sia VI′s location in the Golgi apparatus is critical as glycosylation occurs there, and dysregulation can lead to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. ST8Sia VI shows highest expression levels in the kidney and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 10p12.33, making ST8Sia VI a vital component in the sialyltransferase family of twenty characterized members, each contributing to glycan structures regulation on cell surfaces.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514631 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
