SEE ALSO...

SRY Antibody (SRY-15) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SRY protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-SRY antibody (SRY-15) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SRY protein, also known as sex-determining region Y protein or testis-determining factor (TDF), plays a crucial role as a transcriptional activator in male sex determination in mammals. Located in the nucleus, SRY protein is essential for initiating testes formation from undifferentiated gonadal tissue, a process vital for male reproductive structure development. SRY protein′s DNA-binding ability is critical for function, as SRY activates expression of genes necessary for testis development. Notably, DNA-binding activity of SRY protein is regulated by post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation by protein kinase A (PKA), which can influence stability and function. Mutations in SRY gene have been linked to conditions such as 46,XY gonadal dysgenesis, where individuals with XY chromosomes develop as phenotypic females due to improper gonadal development.

Which antibody is recommended for binding to bovine SRY protein in flow cytometry?

Asked by: Habib
Thank you for your question. We have not validated sc-69842 SRY (SRY-15) fo bovine . There is a 45%homology and we only recommend a specie if the homology is 95% or higher .
