SRPK2 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects SRPK2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SRPK2, a member of the serine/arginine-rich protein kinase family, plays a crucial role in the regulation of pre-mRNA splicing by specifically phosphorylating serine/arginine-rich (SR) proteins, which are essential for both constitutive and alternative splicing processes. The phosphorylation of SR proteins by SRPK2 is vital for the coordination of splicing with transcription, ensuring accurate gene expression regulation. SRPK2 is predominantly expressed in the brain, where anti-SRPK2 antibody (A-5) can detect splicing events necessary for neuronal function, while also being moderately present in heart and skeletal muscle tissues. A proline-rich sequence at the amino terminus enhances specificity and function in splicing regulation. SRPK2 monoclonal antibody (A-5) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of gene expression and the role of splicing in various biological processes.
